Sponsored by the Recreation Department, Bedford’s 2014 Summer Concert Series kicks off at 7 pm tonight behind Town Center with a concert by the Grupo Fantasia Latin Band www.grupofantasia.com. According to the advertising flyer you’ll hear “Colorful, uplifting music from the Caribbean and Latin America along with Soca, Calypso and Island favorites.”
The concerts take place behind Town Center’s Activity Complex, 12 Mudge Way, with seating in the large field, alongside the playground. According to the Recreation Department, “This is Bedford’s ultimate family experience location. The concert venue is surrounded by a playground, outdoor basketball courts, outdoor tennis courts, a walking track, a skate park and numerous athletic fields. The complex boasts a vast lawn for concert goers. Bands perform on a slightly elevated stage. Ample parking surrounds the concert grounds and restrooms are readily available.”

- JULY 31 — THE REMINISANTS – The Reminisants “Oldies” band has a repertoire of dance music that appeals to a variety of musical tastes across several generations. The Reminisants have performed with many of the legends of Rock N’ Roll such as The Beach Boys, Chubby Checker, Paul Revere & the Raiders, Bill Haley’s Comets, Shirley Reeves and the Shirelles, Herb Reed and the Platters, The Belmonts, and The Marvellettes. www.reminisants.com
