The Art of the Automobile, photographs by Steve Edson, is on view at the Bedford Free Public Library gallery until July 12. "Form and function welded, bolted, and stitched together for speed, comfort, performance, and safety. Join Minuteman Senior Services in May for the Spring Forward Walk, Run & Roll! You will have the option of completing a 5K (3.1 miles) or 10K (6.2 miles) along the route of your choice anytime from May 20 – 29, 2023. Other than the registration fee, there is no fundraising required, however you do have the option to increase your support by setting up an individual or team fundraising page or joining a team. We will also have special gifts for our survivors. 6:00 PM- Fight Back Ceremony — This ceremony symbolizes the will and drive of a survivor to fight back against the disease. 9:00 PM - Luminaria Ceremony — Each luminaria bears the name of someone who has battled/is battling cancer. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will host its annual Thrift Sale on Saturday. June 17, from 9:00am to 2:00pm in the Parish Hall. The Thrift Sale will feature new or gently used clothing, kitchenware, books/DVDs/CDs/puzzles, games & toys, household goods, small furniture, and sporting goods. Donations of the above will be collected in the parish hall during the drop-off period from June 11th – 16th . Please check with the parish if you are unsure if an item can be donated.
The annual CSF of Bedford Dollars for Scholars Awards Ceremony will take place at Bedford High School on Tues. May 30, 2023 at 7:00 PM. This event is by invitation only, and will be aired by Bedford TV on their YouTube channel. Graduating Bedford seniors should watch their school and personal email accounts for an invitation to this event. RSVPs are required.
As part of the continuing Bedford Safe Campaign, the Bedford Police and Health Department's, Bedford Board of Health and the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office will host a Bedford gun buyback event on Saturday June 3, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Bedford Department of Public Works (DPW), 314 the Great Road. The focus is on providing residents with a safe and secure way of removing unwanted firearms from their homes. Residents will receive a $100 Visa gift card for any firearm turned in. We will meet behind the Bedford Library at 945a and drive to the MCC VA parking lot on Springs Rd. We will walk a 5 mile loop that incluces the Narow Gauge Rail Trail, Buehler Ponds, Minnie Reid, Two Brothers Rocks, Harvard Field Station, and York. We will aim to begin at 10a, so feel free to meet us at the parking lot. For anyone planning to bring a dog, there is a short stretch along the North Rd that may have traffic. The weather should be lovely, but there could be mud, mosquitos especially by the river, and ticks.
