Get ready to have a wild and woolly time at our upcoming Free Sensory-Friendly Petting Zoo event, hosted by the animal-loving folks at Bierman Autism Centers - Bedford! On Sunday, May 7, from 11 am to 1 pm, mosey on over to our location at 23 Crosby Drive, Suite 300, Bedford, MA 01730, for a day of animal antics that will have your little ones, ages 0-9, squealing with delight. The Bedford Garden Club's day-before-Mother's Day plant sale May 13, from 10 AM - 3 PM, features native plants that provide important habitats for native insects, birds and animals and create landscapes requiring less maintenance.  The event will be held in front of the Public Works building, 314 The Great Road.  This is the Club's major annual event to raise funds for scholarship and civic activities.

On Sunday, May 21, the Gallery@First Parish invites you to attend the opening reception of the current show that features Bedford artists Nancy Daugherty, Pat Pellegrini and Nancy Willett.  The reception is from 11:30 to 1:00 in the gallery at First Parish.  Nancy Daugherty, local artist,  is showing photographs that feature silhouettes and shadows while Nancy Willett, artists and former Day Care teacher and administrator, shares with the audience her watercolors, collages and Icon.  Former teacher, now deceased, Pat Pellegrini's work consists of watercolors, pastels and acrylics all of which have not been displayed in public before now.  Both Nancy

The speaker for our May Chapter Meeting is Neil Rasmussen, president of Save Our Heritage (www.saveourheritage.com), who will share information on why it is important to Stop Super Emitter Private Jet Expansion at Hanscom Or Any Airport. Plans for a massive hangar build-out for private jets at Massport’s Hanscom Field are underway. If carried out, these plans would not only triple the private jet capacity at Hanscom, but will undercut our town, state, and national Climate Action goals at a time when climate scientists are urging us accelerate these goals.
