The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (also known as RYLA) will be held from June 23-25, 2022 at Fitchburg State College with over 200 students from across Central Massachusetts. Each year, the Rotary Club of Bedford selects and sponsors a group of students with excellent potential for leadership and service for attendance. RYLA is a transformational experience designed to develop and emphasize leadership skills, citizenship and community service. First Parish in Bedford is hosting a two-part presentation on Ukraine: Sunday, Jan. 29 and Sunday, Feb. 5 from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm. Vlad Shapiro, a Ukrainian-American from Kviv, will speak briefly about the root causes and current state of the Russian invasion in Ukraine. Vlad will also provide background on cultural & historical differences between the Ukraine & Russian populations, Ukraine’s place in the global economy, as well as key information about Ukrainian culture and traditions. The Town of Bedford operates a drive thru Food Bank service every Thursday, 4:00PM to 5:30PM at 12 Mudge Way, the Yellow Building (rear parking lot). In addition to pantry staples, we provide produce, meat, dairy products as well as feminine care, diapers, household items and pet food. Join us for a summer of music by The Beatles! Rock Voices is a non-audition choir (18+) and is open to all. The Bedford Rock Voices choir rehearses on Thursday nights, 7-9pm at the American Legion (357 Great Road, Bedford, MA) and the first rehearsal is Thursday, May 12. You don't have to be a "singer" to join this choir. You just have to love rock and pop music. This summer we're paying tribute to The Beatles. Our fall season will feature completely different music.
