The classes will be held in the Bedford TV studio, located in the Old Town Hall, 16 South Road, Second Floor.

These (and other) classes are offered through the Bedford Recreation Department

On-demand classes are also offered for high-school students and adults. Email [email protected] to schedule a class.

Introduction to Filmmaking (Grades 4-9)

This class will take place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on three Tuesdays from June 16 through July 16.

Students will learn the key aspects of the filmmaking process such as composition and lighting as well as shots and angles. They will also work with both field equipment and in the studio on multi-camera productions.

Using what they learn, students will produce a show of their choosing (documentary, interviews, sports, comedy, etc.). It can be anything.

After filming, the students will work together to learn the editing skills needed to finish their videos.

At the conclusion of the final class, the students will be able to watch their videos that will be posted on Bedford TV’s YouTube page and aired on the Bedford TV community channel.

Introduction to Photography (Grades 4-9)

This class will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on two Wednesdays: June 26 and July 17.

Students will learn the ins and outs of digital photography. Students will take photos both outside and in-studio and learn how to make those photographs look the way they want them to look.

Students may use their own digital cameras and learn more about using them. They can bring their own DSLR camera to class if they own one.

At the end of the class, students will be able to enjoy and be comfortable using a digital camera as well as knowing how to edit their photos using Adobe Photoshop. Learn more at or click here to register.
