An Obituary: Heidy L. Voigt

February 13, 2024

Heidy L. Voigt of Concord, NH and formerly of Bedford, died Feb. 5, 2024 at the age of 57. Her loss was completely unexpected, and her family is profoundly saddened.

Born in Long Island, NY on Aug. 15, 1966, Heidy was the beloved daughter of Norman Voigt and the late Mary Louise (Walker) Voigt. She was raised in Bedford, where she graduated high school. She went on to get a Bachelor’s Degree in History at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and a Master’s Degree in Education from Boston University.

Heidy was a devoted and passionate teacher at Winnisquam Regional High School in Tilton, NH for more than 30 years. Teaching both history and economics, Heidy’s pride was in her school and students, and she shared her passion for learning with thousands of children over the years.

One of her proudest accomplishments was being honored as Teacher of the Year in 2013. Heidy’s love for education spread into all areas of her life, and those who knew her remember her “fun facts” turned history lessons whenever she got the chance.
