St. Paul’s Hosting Charlie Card Collection for Migrant Families

St. Paul’s Church is hosting a community-wide collection to provide Charlie Cards to the families housed at the Bedford Plaza Hotel.

Heidi Porter, Director of Health and Human Services for Bedford, has suggested this initiative to provide the families with a little more agency and independence. Families will be able to use the MBTA buses and trains for accessing appointments, shopping trips, and fun events. The church is hoping to get the rest of the community involved with this effort.

People may contribute online or by sending a check to St.  Paul’s. Please put “Charlie Cards” on the memo line.

To pay on-line go to https://www.stpaulsbedford.org/donate/. On this page, click the “donate” button and it brings you to a PayPal page. Click on the drop-down menu to designate the funds for “Charlie Card Donation.”

All money donated will go directly to the cost of purchasing Charlie Cards.

If you would like to purchase the Charlie Card yourself to donate, please load it with $50 and drop it off at the church during the week (open most Tuesday through Friday morning), but please call at 781-275-8262 for office hours as they do change.

This donation collection will end on Sunday, Oct. 29.
