Town of Bedford Announces Closure of Emergency Shelter Site

From the Town of Bedford

This week, the last group of families who had been housed at the Bedford emergency shelter site were relocated from the Bedford Plaza Hotel to different sites in a nearby community. As a result of this successful transition, the Bedford emergency shelter site has been closed.

Families will continue to receive supportive services from a professional management company at their new location. In accordance with the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, children who enrolled in Bedford Public Schools may remain enrolled here until their family finds permanent housing.

The Town expresses its gratitude to Town of Bedford staff, National Guard, state agency and regional health partners, and the dozens of individual and organizational community volunteers who rose to the occasion, provided top quality services to residents, and were tremendous resources to individuals in dire need.
