September 26, 2023

Submitted by The Friends of the Bedford Council on Aging (FBCOA)

The MassDOT Registry of Motor Vehicles and The Friends of the Bedford Council on Aging (FBCOA) will present the “Shifting Gears” workshop at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19 at the Bedford COA.

Owning a vehicle and holding a driver’s license are privileges that come with a great deal of
responsibility. Recent studies show that most of people will live 7 to 10 years longer than they are safe to drive. Crash data shows that 94 percent of crashes are caused by driver error. All crashes that happen on the roadways are preventable.

Topics include: rules of the road, Massachusetts Laws (including Vulnerable Road
Users), Distracted Driving, the Move Over Law; and warning signs of unsafe driving.
