An Obituary: Cecile LeMay Walker

Cecile LeMay Walker, 96, of Bedford, passed away on Sept. 9, 2023, in Burlington. 

She was born on Feb. 16, 1927, in Henniker NH and was the beloved daughter of the late Clyde Derby and Thelma (Dennis) Derby. Cecile was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alan LeMay, and later by her husband, Lloyd Walker, as well as her companion, Joe Zuccaro, her brother Cedric Derby, and her sister Patricia Henning.

She is survived by her three sons, James LeMay and his wife Patricia LeMay, David LeMay and his wife Jennifer LeMay, and Richard LeMay and his wife Corinne LeMay. Cecile was also a cherished grandmother and great grandmother to Nicole LeMay, Michael LeMay, Justin Norton, Alan LeMay, Joseph LeMay, Richie LeMay, Sophie Cecile LeMay, Cole LeMay, Brayden LeMay, Eloise LeMay, Liliana LeMay, and Allison LeMay. 

Cecile will be remembered as a loving mother and wife who always had a big smile on her face. She dedicated her career to Millipore, where she made significant contributions. Outside of work, Cecile found joy in playing Bridge, gardening, and being an active member of the Bedford Historical Society, Job Lane House, and First Church of Christ. However, her greatest happiness was found in spending time with her family, who brought her immense pride and joy.

A Celebration of Life Service to honor Cecile will be held at The First Church of Christ, located at 25 Great Rd, Bedford at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 14. Family and friends are​ invited to attend and pay their respects. 

Cecile LeMay Walker will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, warmth, and infectious smile will forever be cherished in our hearts.
