For nearly 30 years, Bedford pharmaceutical company Lantheus has rallied to raise funds for great causes.

The 28th annual Lantheus Charity Golf Tournament, held Thursday, June 15 at the Butter Brook Golf Club in Westford, drew a large crowd of enthusiastic golfers, volunteers, and numerous corporate sponsors to swing for the green – and raise some green – for a good cause, the fight against prostate cancer.

Lantheus has been a long-time supporter of the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) and welcomed partnering with them at the event to raise donations and directly support their mission to fund the most promising research with the best chance of saving lives.

Mary Anne Heino, Lantheus’ Chief Executive Officer, has helmed the annual golf charity event since 2015.

“One of our guiding Values is to Know Someone’s Health is In Our Hands, which we take very seriously both in the work we do and in the causes we champion,” she said. “We share PCF’s goal to end deaths from prostate cancer by raising awareness and funding urgent, cutting-edge research.”

Thursday’s tournament raised more than $190,000 – a company record for this annual event – that went directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. On hand to receive the donation on behalf of PCF was CEO Dr. Chuck Ryan, Vice President Chris Conway, and Director Sheri Rosenberg.

“We are so grateful for Lantheus’ partnership and for everyone who came out today to support the work we do,” Dr. Ryan said. “Donations raised today will go to funding some of the most promising, critical research in prostate cancer.”

Lantheus develops diagnostics, radiotherapeutics, and artificial intelligence for healthcare providers on the front lines of treating diseases such as prostate cancer. The company has recently expanded and has opened a new campus at 201 Burlington Rd., Bedford, which is home to approximately 200 full and part-time employees.

Both PCF and Lantheus remind us that June is Men’s Health Month, which is a perfect time to urge the men in our lives to get screened for prostate cancer.

Donations can be made directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation by visiting the PCF website.
