Patricia Agnes (Belfi) Marcus, 85, of Bedford, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2023. She was the wife of the late Sebastian “Butch” Marcus with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.
She was the mother of Patricia Vlachos of Stoneham, Peter Marcus of Newport, NH, and Paul Marcus and his wife Kristin of Bedford. Patricia was also the grandmother of Peter, Nicholas, Gina, Catherine, and Robert; and great-grandmother of P.J. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Patricia is predeceased by her parents, the late Joseph and Agnes Belfi.
Pat grew up in Queens, NY and moved to Bedford with Butch in the 1960s where they raised their family. When her children grew older, Pat was employed in the Concord-Carlisle school system. After her retirement in 1998, Pat and Butch traveled often, including making annual trips to New York and Florida to see their family and friends.
Pat will always be remembered for her smile, positive disposition, and love of a good story. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 17 at the Shawsheen Funeral Home, 281 The Great Road, Bedford. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 18 at the Shawsheen Funeral Home, followed by a burial service in Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford.
