An Obituary: Barbara A. Clifford

Barbara A. Clifford, 91, died peacefully at her home on March 11, 2023.

Born on Oct. 20, 1931, she was a lifelong resident of Bedford and owner of A.W. Clifford Realtors for most of her career. Barbara’s intelligence, generosity, and kind manner were the hallmarks of how she cared deeply for her community and for the well-being of others.

She was a member of the Board of Directors of Girl Scouts USA, served Carleton-Willard Village as a long-term trustee, was a board member for Carleton-Willard At Home, and was a driving force behind establishing conservation land in Bedford.

Barbara was predeceased by Maureen M. Warner of Bedford, and leaves behind her beloved dog, Barney, along with family members Marjorie Levin of Sheffield, MA; Joan Barton of Saugus; Daniel & Alisa Barton of Newburyport; William Levin of Salem; Stephen & Paula Barton of Dracut; Andrew and Julie Levin of New York, NY; Amy Barton of Hailey, ID; Alison Barton & David Rudolph of Chelsea; Michael & April Barton of Allison Park, PA; Judd Warner of Washington, DC; Kathleen Warner of Venice, FL; Margaret Monastesse of Stone Mountain, GA; Norann Warner of Stuart, FL. She also leaves her adopted family, Jen Piliero & Susan Lincoln of Bedford, Sam Lincoln of Bedford, and many cherished friends.

Services will be private. A celebration of Barbara’s life (date to be announced) will be held in the fall.
