Justice Buchannan exploded for 27 second-half points and the visiting Bedford Buccaneers blew open a tight game and defeated Weston on Tuesday night, 79-59, in boys’ basketball.
The Bucs actually trailed 29-28 at the half, and were even sluggish at the start of the third quarter before some defensive adjustments slowed Weston’s quick guards, accompanied by timely baskets.
Meanwhile, Buchannan, the junior co-captain, finished with a career-high 34 points. His fellow junior co-captain Camdyn Shoesmith added 14 points and had a huge game on both boards. Justin Liberman and Jamie Baer added eight points each.
The Buccaneers, now 5-3, entertain Westford Academy at home on Friday at 7 p.m.
