Special to The Bedford Citizen
Bedford resident Eric Dahlberg will run the TCS New York City Marathon on November 1 to raise funds for Boston Children’s Hospital as a member of the hospital’s Miles for Miracles Team. To achieve his $3,000 fundraising goal, Mr. Dahlberg has partnered with Bedford’s Salem Five Bank.
Mr. Dahlberg is asking area residents to contribute spare change to his fundraising campaign, and Salem Five Bank is allowing donors to use its change-counting machine without fees.
Mr. Dahlberg explains how it works: “Folks can take their change to Salem Five at 285 Great Road to be counted and deposited into our Boston Children’s Hospital fundraising account, or they can notify me that they would like to contribute – I’ll take care of the legwork and provide a receipt.”
“Boston Children’s Hospital was recently named as the nation’s top hospital for kids by U.S. News & World Report,” continued Mr. Dahlberg. “We’re so lucky to have such a phenomenal institution right here in our own backyard. 26.2 miles is the least I can do. If you have extra change that you can part with, it will go to a great cause and is, of course, tax deductible.”
Scott Fisher, Vice President and Market Manager at Bedford’s Salem Five location, said: “We are delighted to partner with Mr. Dahlberg. Children’s Hospital is a wonderful organization and Salem Five is more than happy to help raise money on their behalf and ensure Mr. Dahlberg crosses the finish line.”
To make a contribution, simply bring your change to Salem Five’s Bedford location at 285 Great Road, contact Eric at (617) 461-2737 to arrange a pick-up, or visit his Boston Children’s Hospital fundraising page at: https://fundraise.childrenshospital.org/goto/ericdahlberg
