DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS Phone-A-Thon: Looking Ahead to February 28 and March 1

The CSF of Bedford Dollars for Scholars Phone-A-Thon will solicit pledges from Bedford residents on Saturday, February 28^th and March 1st.  High School Students will seek donations to this annual college scholarship fund drive.  This year, CSF of Bedford Dollars for Scholars is celebrating its 50^th year of scholarship support to Bedford High School graduates, including the Hanscom AFB community, and Shawsheen Tech graduates.

The MITRE Corp, Burlington Rd., the host for this year’s telephone drive, has donated use of their facilities for Dollars for Scholars student volunteers recruited by BHS Social Studies Department. A team of CSF adult volunteers will stuff pledge envelopes and letters to residents.

Alma and Sal Pomponi are Phone-A-Thon chairpersons for this community event, the main source of funds for CSF scholarships awarded at graduation.  Recipients will be recognized at the CSF reception in May.

Any senior graduating from BHS, or any Bedford or Hanscom AFB resident graduating from another secondary school, completing home-schooling, or completing GED requirements may apply for a CSF Scholarship.  Applications will be available online by 1 Mar, with a deadline of 31 Mar.  For more information, please visit the website www.bedfordma.dollarsforscholars.org.

Scholarship winners are chosen by a selection board of BHS civic leaders and CSF directors led by Laura Heyl.
