On April 9 Davis School celebrated Opening Day. Kids wore Red Sox shirts/hats to school and volunteer parents (dressed in Red Sox attire) pitched, caught and fielded balls at 10 stations while kids filed in grade by grade after lunch.

The school provided a hot dog lunch and pretzels to the kids, and BEST donated water for the parent volunteers.

Police Robert Bongiorno and Fire David Grunes both participated, donating their time to give the kids a great day while baseball-themed music — Take Me Out to the Ballgame and the Red Sox anthem, Sweet Caroline – played in the background.

To make the day even more special, there was a guest appearance by Wally the Green Monster!
