Fall Curbside Yard Waste Pickup

Curbside Yard Waste will be collected by Republic Services on three dates in November. Residents should place all materials in paper bags or open barrels (clearly marked "yard waste") at the curb by Sunday evenings. Please report missed collection using the Waste Wizard tool at https://www.bedfordma.gov/478/Trash-Recycling Acceptable material includes: Leaf litter, pine needles & yard trimmings Weed and tree material (up to 1" diameter) Lead litter left on roads and storm drains causes clods, flooding, and poor water quality. Pediatric First Aid, CPR for Grandparents or other Caregivers

If you’re caring for an infant or child, you need to know how to respond in case of a first-aid emergency. You’ll learn to handle injuries and manage illness for the first few minutes until help arrives. We’ll cover first aid basics; medical, injury and environmental emergencies; and CPR for all ages. You’ll learn about allergies and epipens too. Upon completion of the course, you'll receive certification in Pediatric First Aid and CPR for all ages. Open to Grand/parents and caregivers of any age. Please bring a mat or towel for kneeling.

Enjoy some local history this weekend at the Job Lane Farm Museum, 295 North Road, Bedford.  The Job Lane House will be open for tours on Sunday, from 2PM to 4PM.  This 300+ year old house, the oldest house in Bedford, will take visitors back to colonial times.  See the open hearth kitchen and peek into the borning room.  The parlor has rare Rufus Porter wall paintings.  Period furnishings add interest to all the rooms.  Our Student Museum Docent House Tour Guides will provide informative dialogue about the house and its history.  Walk through the barn after the house tour

Please join the Bedford Trails Committee for a free trail walk in the woods! We plan to explore the Concord Road / Massport areas. Pace will be leisurely. Meet at Bedford Public Library at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 7th.
