Scouts BSA Troop 194 will hold its annual St. Patrick’s Day family pancake breakfast on Sunday, March 17th, at Anthony-Hunt-Hamilton American Legion Post 221 (357 Great Rd., Bedford). The breakfast features all-you-can eat pancakes, bacon, and sausage, and fun activities for kids. Proceeds benefit Troop 194, helping to defray the cost of troop activities and funding camperships and other programs to keep Scouting accessible to all young people, regardless of need. Hours are 8:00 A.M. until noon. Advance tickets are a suggested donation of $8 for adults and $5 for children aged 4-9, active servicemembers and first responders, seniors (60+),

When it comes to the early days of rock ‘n’ roll, some of the most pioneering and powerfully influential figures were women. This show will highlight these women who were instrumental in making rock and roll what it is today. The Retro Polatin Duo, Jill Goldman and David Polatin, will sing, play, and discuss some of the women who defied the odds and changed the landscape of rock and roll. This program is supported by a grant from the Bedford  Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

The MMIP Painting Project began not as a project at all but with the intent of it being just one painting to show support for the Missing & Murdered indigenous peoples crisis. Artist Nayana laFond created the first painting on May 5, 2020, the day of remembrance for MMIP. She shared it online and the response was so overwhelming she did one more, yet again intending that to be the end. The response to the second was even more and so Nayana opened her inbox to anyone wanting to be painted not expecting the 25+ the received the first day.Stories

Save the date for the Bedford Orchestra Program’s Vertical Concert: Music from the Eastern Hemisphere! The concert will feature 2 world premieres by the BPS Orchestras: The BHS Chamber Orchestra will perform a commissioned piece by Jason Coleman for solo oud and orchestra, and all 5-12 strings students another commissioned piece arranged by Jason Coleman. The concert takes place Wednesday, March 20th at 7:30 PM in the JGMS Gymnasium and is free and open to the public. Registration is open now for The Bedford High School Relay for Life Committee’s K-5 Kids Night Out from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, March 22 at Davis School. Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. The $35 registration fee also covers crafts, supervised gym/game time, pizza, snacks, and water. Register early - the fee increases to $45 on Saturday, March 16.
