On Sunday, March 5th, the BHS Honors Choir will be performing the choral masterwork Considering Matthew Shepard with Polymnia Choral Society in Melrose, MA. This choral masterwork focuses on telling the story of Matthew's life, his death, and how his death (and the death of James Byrd Jr. in June of 1998) became the impetus of change in how the US dealt with hate crimes. The concert lobby will feature tables of nonprofits and organizations that help people in the LGBTQ+ community and/or work to end racism. The Bedford High School Model United Nations (UN) club is excited to announce that it will be hosting a fundraiser at Flatbread Pizza, located at 213 Burlington Rd. in Bedford from 3 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 9. All proceeds from the event will go directly towards the club's conference fundraising and future activities. Model UN is an academic club where students simulate the United Nations and other international organizations, discussing global issues and proposing solutions. It's a great opportunity for students to develop leadership, public speaking, and critical thinking skills while learning about international relations and diplomacy. Every
The Bedford Relay for Life Committee will be hosting a movie night on Friday, March 10th from 5pm-8pm in the JGMS auditorium. We will be showing the movie Encanto. Admission is free for everyone, but donations are appreciated. We will also be selling snacks and having a raffle during the event! All proceeds directly benefit the American Cancer Society.

Look ahead to spring by signing up for the Bedford Arts and Craft Society’s upcoming workshop, “Create a Floral Arrangement Using Design Principles.” This in-person event will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, at the First Church of Christ, Congregational, in Bedford. The instructor, Cindy Mattson, is the longtime owner of Given Erwin Florist in Burlington. She teaches floral design at the shop, as well as for adult ed programs, women's groups, and floral industry events.
