This show, juried by Jessica Straus, examines our relationships with familiar, unfamiliar and defamiliarized objects. Sometimes we find things we never knew we lost. They have been hidden away in our attics or our drawers. Other things we discover in the dailiness of our lives. We find meaning and even healing in found objects and pieces from the past. Meanings are created somewhere between claiming and severing relationships with objects, between reviving and recasting their history. The work starts with a found object which must be physically embedded or transformed into the piece itself. Objects may be recognizable or beyond
After a three year hiatus, the Rotary Club of Bedford’s Winter Community Breakfast (formerly known as Breakfast with Santa) is returning on December 11, 2022 from 9 AM to 12 PM at Bedford High School. Our aim is to hold an event that will be inclusive of all members of our growing and diverse Bedford community. As in years past, there will be a hot pancake breakfast, winter crafts, photos with Santa, and a commemorative coloring book for the children to take home. New this year will be the addition of an Edible Snow Creature Building Contest, games, and activities

The Bedford Center for the Arts Photo Group welcomes back photographer and digital printmaker, Bill Davison as the critiquer for our next Image Sharing session. This virtual event will take place on Tuesday, December 13 at 7 pm and the topic will be Incongruity. Bill Davison divides his time between Long Now Boston and his studio at Western Avenue Studios in Lowell where he pursues photography and digital printmaking. Bedford Fire Department is holding it's Annual Toy Collection on December 10 and December 17 from 10am - 2pm in the rear parking lot of Bedford High School (the lot adjacent to Liljegren Way). Island of Peoples The Lowell Chamber Orchestra will perform this dramatic multimedia oratorio, composed in 2019 by Gabriele Vanoni. Island of Peoples is based on stories of immigrants coming to the United States, and it draws inspiration and material from the stories of the Ellis Island Oral Histories. These interviews include stories of struggle, pain, and sadness, but also of joy, love, friendship, and faith.
