Please join us for this free HYBRID event -- both IN-PERSON and via Zoom:   Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958) is considered to be one of the greatest of all English composers.  Born in Gloucestershire, England, he showed an intense musical talent from a young age.  He wrote in all genres of music-- operas, ballets, chamber music, secular and religious vocal pieces, hymns, and orchestral compositions, and nine symphonies – all in the course of sixty years.  Vaughan Williams was particularly interested in music from Tudor times and English folk music and carols.  He was almost single-handedly responsible for the resurgence

Join The Umbrella Arts Center and The Old Manse under the light of the full moon on December 7. Over thirty years ago, The Auxiliary of Emerson Health began lighting the evergreen tree outside the main entrance in honor and memory of loved ones and significant people who have touched our lives. We continue that tradition this year with a virtual Tree of Lights ceremony on Wednesday, December 7 at 4:30 PM via Zoom. The proceeds from this community-wide event will support Pediatric Care at Emerson Health. Mark your calendars for Thursday, December 8, for a POMS fundraiser at Flatbread! Bring the family to Flatbread for dine-in or takeout from 5pm to 9pm. The JGMS vocal concert is at 7pm that night, so choristers can enjoy a slice before the performance, or as a reward afterward for a job well sung. Bedford Fire Department is holding it's Annual Toy Collection on December 10 and December 17 from 10am - 2pm in the rear parking lot of Bedford High School (the lot adjacent to Liljegren Way). They are collecting new unwrapped toys for children, as well as non perishable food items (for Middlesex Community College Food Bank) and coats (donated to the John Dodge Coat Drive on behalf of St. Frances House). Come on buy and support our neighbors who could use a hand this holiday season.

The Concord Chorus, conducted by Dr. Kevin Leong, is pleased to present its annual Winter Holiday Concerts on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 2:00 and 5:00 PM at the Middlesex School’s Memorial Chapel, 1400 Lowell Road, Concord, Massachusetts. Please join us to celebrate the return of our holiday concerts with a heavenly selection of music and carols, including a piece by Ukrainian composer Dmytro Bortniansky and works by Palestrina, Brahms, Howells, Rutter, and Copland. The concert also features Assistant Conductor and pianist John Sullivan and organist Jonathan Wessler. Tickets are $30 (general admission), $25 (65+), and $10 (children and students).
