Step back in time for a delightful afternoon of family fun at Bedford’s colonial Job Lane Farm Museum! Take a tour of the house and barn, watch a demonstration by the Bedford Minuteman Company. Get up close to farm animals at Farmer’s Helpers petting zoo, play with stilts, rolling hoops, and other old-time toys and games. Help make hand-cranked ice cream (and enjoy some Bedford Farms ice cream afterward). Go on a scavenger hunt. Hear a talk about herbs in our herb garden. Help operate a cider press. Dip a candle. Enjoy a live guitar singer. Bring your own picnic
Dean Rantz will be at the Family Field Day, August 14, 12 noon to 3 pm, at the Job Lane Farm Museum, in Bedford. He attended Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, and is very gifted. He can create mostly anything a customer asks for. He makes colonial reproductions including some for fireplaces. He has made trivets, chandeliers, a music stand with candle holders, rails for homes, museums and churches, and small items such as nails, J hooks, shutter dogs, and eye hooks. This event has something for everyone in the family.
