Online Donations to Tax Aid Fund Now Possible to Help Elderly and Disabled Low-Income Residents

From the Bedford Taxation Aid Committee:

The Bedford Taxation Aid Committee is pleased to announce that it is now possible to help elderly or disabled low-income residents of Bedford with their real estate taxes by contributing online to the Tax Aid Fund.  Simply go to Taxation Aid Committee | Bedford, MA (bedfordma.gov) and click the “Online Donation Link,” or go to your UNIPAY account and click “Tax Aid Donations.”

According to surveys commissioned by the Town in the last six years, nearly 30 percent of elderly homeowners in Bedford spend so much of their income on housing that they have difficulty affording necessities like food, clothing, and medical care. Nearly 1/3 of Bedford householders over the age of 65 have an annual income less than $50,000 and 15 percent have income under $25,000. They need our help.

If you have not already contributed to the Tax Aid Fund, but wish to do so, you now have an online option in addition to the already available choices of cash or check. The Taxation Aid Committee hopes you will be as generous as you can be to help your elderly or disabled neighbors continue to enjoy living in the town we all love.
