Have Coffee with a Cop and Learn About Fraud and Scam Awareness on Feb. 12

January 11, 2024

Chief John Fisher invites the community to share coffee and conversations with the Bedford Police and to participate in a program aimed at educating the public on the dangers of fraud and scams.

The program takes place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 12 at the Bedford Council on Aging, 12 Mudge Way.

Coffee with a Cop is an opportunity for residents to chat with members of the Bedford Police Department over coffee while the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office presents their Law Enforcement and Residents Networking (LEARN) Initiative.

The LEARN Initiative aims to educate members of the public about the dangers of fraud and scams and how to spot them. This includes a formal presentation followed by a question and answer session.

“I invite anyone from our community, especially those who are elders or family members or caregivers of elders, to attend this event to get to know our officers while also learning about the hazards of fraud and scams, which often target seniors,” said Chief Fisher. “The LEARN initiative is an excellent opportunity to learn about scams and fraud, and we are grateful to the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office for providing this presentation.”

To sign up for the event, call the Bedford Council on Aging at 781-275-6825.
