Come to the Holiday Artisans Market and Children’s Fair on Saturday

November 29, 2023

Submitted by Sylvia Mallory on behalf of the Bedford Cultural District Partnership

Make this weekend’s Holiday Artisans Market and Children’s Fair at First Parish on the Common, 75 Great Road, a go-to place for holiday shopping and seasonal glee.

Co-sponsored by the Bedford Cultural District Partnership and First Parish, the marketplace and fair will open their doors at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2. Use the church’s Elm Street entrance to make your way into the fun.

Holiday Artisans Market, 2 to 6 p.m.

People of all ages and tastes will be served by shopping at the Holiday Artisans Market, where 30-plus vendors will offer one-of-a-kind original artworks and crafts. The exhibitors’ tables will be overflowing with everything from jewelry to stained glass works to ceramics to photographs to upcycled goods to handknits and much more. The Holiday Artisans Market will offer unique seasonal presents, stocking stuffers, housewarming and birthday gifts, and maybe a little something for yourself.

Children’s Fair, 2 to 4 p.m.

Girl Scout Troops 72147 and 72044 are thrilled to present a Children’s Fair downstairs at First Parish. There will be tables filled with colorful items that kids can select, free of charge, for gifting to parents and other significant adults in their life. The scouts will provide courtesy gift wrapping, and child care will be available for potty-trained kids. Once they’ve selected their gifts, children can try their hand at creative card-making.

Music in the air…

Live seasonal music will be in the air as shoppers make their rounds at the Artisans Market and Children’s Fair. Concert musician and singer-songwriter Raley Beggs will perform solo works for the classical guitar, as well as holiday-flavored tunes. In addition, volunteers from the First Parish choir, under the musical direction of Brad Conner, will sing familiar carols of the season.

And there’s more…

The Artisans Market and Children’s Fair are part of Bedford’s townwide Holiday Kickoff. Also featured will be:
