There are a lot of exciting things to look forward to as we head into Bedford Day weekend, but in the words of Albert Einstein, “The only thing that you absolutely have to know is the location of the library.”
The Friends of the Bedford Free Public Library are holding their annual Fall Book Sale, starting this Thursday, Sept. 21 through Sunday, Sept. 24.
The Friends Fall Book Sale will have thousands of fiction and nonfiction books for every age range – children and teens through adults. There will be paperback books, hardcover books, gift-quality coffee table books, DVDs, CDs, puzzles, games, and other merchandise available at the sale.
Most items available for sale this weekend have been generously donated by the community. This year, the Friends also received a large collection of math and science books from the estate of longtime library supporter, Ray Nickerson, that will be available this weekend.
Whether you shop early, look for bonuses at the end, or check out the selection on Bedford Day after visiting the library, you can be sure that buying books will go right back into the community. All proceeds from the sale go directly to support and enhance programs and acquisitions at the Bedford Library.
Check out the schedule below, and then head to the library, 7 Mudge Way, and follow the signs to the book sale.
- Special Members-Only Preview Evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21. The early bird gets the best books. Not a member, not a problem. People can sign up for as little as $15 for an annual membership.
- Bedford Day Booth Promotion for Adults: “Free Regularly-priced Book Coupon” to any adult who purchases Friends of the Library merchandise at the Friends’ booth (e.g., mugs, t-shirts, canvas bags, etc.).
- Bedford Day Booth Promotions for Children: All children will receive a “Free Book Coupon” when they visit the booth with their family. Children will also receive reading-themed bookmarks to color along with packets of crayons.
