The Parents Diversity Council, along with the Bedford Public Schools, is organizing volunteers to assist migrant families living at the Bedford Plaza Hotel so they can attend Bedford Day on Saturday, Sept. 23.
The new families are being invited to attend the Bedford Day festivities this weekend, but to help make it easier and safer for them to do so, we are looking for volunteers to assist. Volunteers will wear bright orange shirt (easy to identify in the crowd) and be available to answer questions and guide people as needed during the Bedford Day festivities.
- 10 a.m. – Volunteers are needed to meet at the Bedford Plaza Hotel to walk with families down Great Road to the parade route.
- 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Volunteers who are already attending Bedford Day will be in the crowds ready to answer questions and guide people as needed.
Volunteers who speak Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole are welcome, but not required. Volunteers should be willing to use Google Translate on their phones to help as needed.
