Town Manager Finalist Interviews Coming Up Monday at 5:15, 6:30 p.m.

August 11, 2023

The Select Board is scheduled to interview the two finalists for Town Manager late Monday afternoon, followed by a discussion that is expected to lead to a choice for Bedford’s chief administrative officer.

And just in case there’s a delay for any reason, the board has posted a meeting agenda for Tuesday at 7 p.m. to continue deliberations. But that’s just a placeholder, acknowledged board Chair Bopha Malone. “We don’t want to prolong this.”

One-hour interviews are planned Monday with Tyngsborough Town Manager Matthew Hanson at 5:15 p.m. and Maynard Town Administrator Gregory Johnson at 6:30 p.m.

The deliberations are on the agenda for 7:45 p.m., followed at 8 p.m. by an executive session to discuss “strategy and preparation for contract negotiation with non-union personnel.”

That executive session, to discuss the contract terms for the new town manager, is unlikely to begin at 8 p.m. unless the board can agree on a new town manager in 15 minutes. The executive session has also been posted on the Tuesday agenda.
