Railroad Day a Success!

The Friends of Depot Park report that Railroad Day at Depot Park on Saturday was a great success!

More than 100 visitors turned out throughout the day for the railyard walk and slide presentation with author William Deen, and the many activities for families. Among the activities people enjoyed were Lego building with Chris Urbine, arts and crafts with Cynthia Mork, and railroad stories with Henry Carpenter (aka “Conductor Henry”). There was also up-close magic with Dick Miller (“the Magic Railroad Conductor”) and Dawn Kelley, a scavenger hunt, the operating model railroad in the Freight House with tour guide Terry Gleason, and refreshments.

The Friends of Bedford Depot Park were grateful for the help of volunteers Keith Lavon, Joe Piantedosi, Terry Gleason, Alison Mork, Steve Wetzel, Greg Carpenter, Mike Shaw, and others who pitched in throughout the day. A temporary display of photographs from the event can now be viewed in the Railcar.
