Several areas are receiving fog sealing treatment today (Friday, Aug. 11).
The Great Road between South Road and Loomis Street will have work occurring during the middle of the day. Please expect temporary delays, but access to all businesses and residences will be maintained.
Several paving projects are underway in Bedford, and road users will notice a substantial amount of work in the coming weeks.
The project that will most impact travel time around town is the paving work on South Road from Railroad Avenue to south of Hartwell Road. This work is anticipated to occur during the weeks of Aug. 14 and Aug. 21. During this time, there will be several periods when this section of South Road will be closed to through traffic but open to emergency and local traffic. The work includes grinding the roadway, grading, and placing the binder pavement course. The final pavement course will be completed in the fall but will not require road closures.
Also occurring in August will be pavement fog seal work on various streets, roadway work around the North and Chelmsford Road intersection, and installation of a new crosswalk on North Road near Bedford Farms.
