VA Bedford Health Care System is hosting a public cornhole tournament on Friday, Aug. 4, in the oval on the campus of Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital, 200 Springs Road. Check in begins at 5 p.m., with the competition continuing until 9 p.m.
Organizers are promoting the tournament as “a family-friendly affair, featuring activities such as bounce houses, face painting, music, and food.” Registration is available through the following link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/va-bedford-summer-vetfest-23-tickets-668922945537.
The tournament is part of Summer VetFest ’23, a resource fair featuring representatives from the VA’s Veterans Benefits Administration and Enrollment and Toxic Exposure Screening Team. They will answer veterans’ and families’ questions regarding the PACT Act, claims, screening, and enrollment.
Wicked Cornhole, the Tewksbury business that makes customized cornhole boards, will oversee competition in the tournament, with a set of boards offered as the winner’s prize.
“We aim to create a memorable experience for veterans, families, and the entire community,” said Patrick Kirby, VA Bedford’s public affairs officer. “Let’s celebrate summer, camaraderie, and the spirit of competition together.”
