Since 2020 and in honor of his father, who was a military veteran, Donald Barnard and his family and friends have been raising money to provide meals to residents of various veteran housing communities.
For the second year in a row, Bedford Green Apartments benefited from this generosity, and residents enjoyed a delicious Italian dinner provided by Mario’s Italian Restaurant of Lexington. Mario’s is owned by the same family that once operated the very popular Café Luigi in Bedford for many years.
Bedford Green sits on four acres on the northwest corner of the VA’s Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Medical Center – Bedford VA campus. It includes 69 furnished apartments offering permanent housing for homeless veterans and those at imminent risk of homelessness.
The residents and staff of the Bedford Green Apartments are “grateful for the generosity and thoughtfulness of Donald Barnard and additional supporters.”
Thank you all for your service!
