Work has begun on The Bedford Citizen’s annual “Bedford Guide” and we are looking for nominations for this year’s “Citizen Among Us” section.
About “Citizens Among Us”
Bedford is more than just a town; it’s a community. Communities are not built by a single person, or a single board, or a single entity. They are built by a diverse set of individuals who contribute distinct talents and efforts towards making things better for everyone.
Some of these citizens work steadily and quietly behind the scenes and out of the spotlight. Perhaps it is a friend rallying concerned neighbors around a cause, a need, or in supporting of other neighbors. Perhaps it’s the volunteer that shows up early to help at community events and stays late so that details go off without a hitch. Maybe it’s the committee member who takes on the tedious tasks that others don’t want to do.
These “Citizens Among Us” are often the behind-the-scenes “worker bees” behind some of our community events, sports leagues, parent and caregiver organizations, cultural groups, interest groups, religious organizations, grassroots causes, or just brightening the day of those around them and sharing of themselves. And while many of these special folks may go uncelebrated, they certainly are not unappreciated. Through the “Citizens Among Us” series, they are recognized, acknowledged, and thanked.
Nominate a “Citizen Among Us”
“Citizens Among Us” embody the spirit of The Bedford Citizen – not simply residing in town, but also participating here as well. We would love to hear from groups or individuals with suggestions of who are the “Citizens Among Us.”
Please email your nominees to [email protected].
