Bedford Restaurant Round Up – May

May is here with Mother’s Day, Cinco-de-Mayo, Graduations, Outdoor Dining, and Live Music all making getting out to your favorite restaurant even more fun.  Here’s a far-from-complete list of what’s going on around town with the local eating establishments.

What’s happening on the Bedford restaurant scene this month:

Bedford Cupcakes:

New spring hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays. Closed on Sundays.

Ken’s NY Deli & Pizzeria:

It’s that time of year! Outdoor seating is back at Ken’s. Come enjoy the nice weather, a cold drink, and some delicious food.

Minuteman Diner:

Trivia every Thursday from 7:30 to 9 p.m.  

Now open seven days a week  – New hours are 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays through Wednesdays, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursdays and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Music: Bedford’s own Ben Couvee sings every other Saturday night.  

Maggie’s Other Farm:

The outdoor patio at Maggie’s Other Farm is now open for the season. Enjoy refreshing cocktails, tavern favorites, and creative sushi al fresco whenever the weather cooperates. 

Maggie’s Other Farm will also be hosting Monday night car shows starting on May 8 through the summer. The classic cars will arrive at 5 p.m. and will hang around till dusk. Stop in for dinner and enjoy the show.

The Flatbread Company:

The Flatbread Company will be celebrating Mother’s Day and probably have special brunch pizzas for lunchtime.

There will be live music from a Bedford High School jazz band that plays on the last Monday of the month, which this month is on May 29.

For Community Bakes, there is:

  • May 2 – Bridge Elementary School
  • May 9 – Bedford Varsity Cheerleading 
  • May 16 – Students of Color Association 
  • May 23 – Community Nursery School 
  • May 30 – Billerica Boys/Girls Club 

The Great Wall Restaurant:

Mother’s Day all-day buffet- 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The Melting Pot: 

Mother’s Day – Sunday, May 14 – Reservations required

Melt Mom’s heart with a decadent fondue brunch or dinner. The Melting Pot will be open from 2 p.m. on Mother’s Day and offering a delicious set menu featuring fondues not typically available on the a la carte menu.  

This is a great place for other spring celebrations such as graduation parties, rehearsal dinners, and showers. There is a private party room that can seat 36 people. 

Peppers Grille:

·        Saturday, May 6 – Please welcome back to Peppers one of our own from Bedford – amazing singer Ben Couvee from 6 to 8 p.m.

·        Thursday, May 18 – Wine Tasting – 7 to 9 p.m.
Taste some samplings of wines along with samplings from the Charcuterie Table. Tickets are $25 and are sold at Peppers Grille Bar. Tickets are selling fast and there is limited seating.

Coming in June: 

·        Saturday, June 3 from 6 to 9 p.m. Peppers Grille is excited to have Duo Folk Indie Singer Kat Brooks and
Singer-Songwriter-Guitarist Greg Kane from “Rivers Between” back for the second time. You can view their talent on their website at Riversbetween.com. Come join the fun.

·        Sunday, June 4 will be the First Bedford Classic Cars car show presented in connection with The Bedford Citizen. Details to come.

Red Heat Tavern:

Things are definitely heating up this month at Red Heat Tavern in Bedford.

Red Heat hosts “Trivia Night” every Sunday at 6 p.m. and “Two Cents: A Game of Opinions!” every Tuesday at 7 p.m. Guests can fuel up before, during, and after the game with their favorite Red Heat meal and beverage.

Additionally, Red Heat is featuring “Cocktails and Claws” for Mother’s Day weekend. This includes a must-eat Lobster Roll and a Breakfast Bloody Mary popping with garnishes.

Tashan Bedford: 

In May, Tashan Bedford continues Punjabi Tuesday Night from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Also, there is a special weekend brunch with the menu changing each week
