The Bedford High School boys’ lacrosse team will be looking for a second strong performance Thursday afternoon when it travels to rival Wayland High for a 4 p.m. match.

Last Friday’s 12-2 opening victory at home over Nipmuc Regional of Upton was “a collective effort. The team came together to get the win,” said Head Coach Ashley Martell.

Bedford broke the game open in the second quarter, eventually scoring 10 consecutive times after leading 2-1. Pacing the attack were senior Rich Fedele (three goals, three assists), seniors Eric Miles and Nick Tatarczuk and sophomore Jackson Malio (each with two goals and an assist). Wrapping up the scoring were Logan Skipper (two goals) and Jackson Tucker (one).

Senior goalie Ryan Cohen had nine saves and some clears that the coach called “phenomenal.” She also applauded the defense in front of him, led by senior Ian Grove, a team captain along with Fedele, Miles, and Tatarczuk.

“The boys have been working very hard. We’re looking forward to keeping the momentum going,” Coach Martell said.
