Sam Bradford, 26, and Addison Poulter, 14, were the male and female winners on Thanksgiving morning at the annual Bedford Turkey Trot run and walk at the John Glenn Middle School. This year’s Trot attracted 250 runners and 125 walkers.

Also winning was the Bedford Community Table/Pantry, Inc., the financial arm of the Bedford Food Pantry. Thursday’s event resulted in $14,000 raised to help feed people in need in the town.
“This is a great way to kick off Thanksgiving and the holiday season and donate much-needed funds to a good cause,” said race director Chuck Connell before the event. “This is a friendly fun-run/walk. There are no timing chips or VIP tents – just nice people and a good cause.”
The Turkey Trot consisted of a five-kilometer run and a two-mile walk.
“The Turkey Trot is the only fundraiser that we conduct, and it usually raises $10,000-$15,000, a significant contribution to the Food Bank’s needs,” said Jan Pendleton, President of Bedford Community Table/Pantry, Inc.
“It’s also a beloved community tradition, and it wouldn’t happen without Chuck Connell’s energetic leadership and the ongoing support of our primary sponsor, Callahan’s Karate,” she continued. “They and all the participants and other donors are part of what makes Bedford such a special town.”
