Bedford High School cross country runners Addi Poulter (16th) and Jonny Garraway (20th) took home medals from last Saturday’s Massachusetts State Track Coaches Association Bay State Invitational Meet in Devens.

Both the girls’ and boys’ teams placed eighth in their respective five-kilometer races, the girls out of 15 teams and the boys in a field of 18.

Poulter, a freshman, covered the distance in 21 minutes, 21 seconds. She was followed by two sophomore teammates, Grace Niu and Anna Massaro. On the boys’ side, the finishers following junior Garraway (17 minutes, 37 seconds) were his classmate Carter Rauch and senior Aidan McCarthy.

The home dual-meet season ended Wednesday vs. Wayland High School. Last week, the Bedford teams ran at Weston, and the boys won on a tie-breaker with Oren Brosgol finishing sixth, ahead of the hosts’ sixth-place runner. The girls lost by a score of 20-35.
