The Department of Public Works apologizes to those residents who were turned away from Saturday’s Recycling Event.
The overwhelming response caused traffic to back up on Carlisle Road and Winterberry Way. Based on the number of cars already on the property (108 Carlisle Road), the DPW had to close off the event without being able to serve everybody.
“We are sorry that we could not accommodate every resident who showed up Saturday,” said David Manugian, Director of Public Works. “We are currently scheduling another event involving the same materials in the near future to accommodate the overflow needs.
“Also, we are working to avoid a similar situation at next Saturday’s paper shredding event. More information will be posted on the DPW website and local media by Tuesday.”
