I am pleased to announce my candidacy for the Bedford School Committee. I have been serving on the School Committee since November after being appointed by the School Committee and the Selectmen to fill a recent vacancy. I will be seeking a caucus nomination on January 7 to serve the remaining two-year term created by this vacancy.
I have been a proud resident of Bedford for 16 years, along with my wife Sally and my son Sean, an eighth-grader in JGMS. I am immersed in higher education as a college professor at Brandeis University and also hold appointments at MIT, Brown, and the Center for Medical Simulation. I am eager to continue my service on the School Committee to provide leadership as we transition to a new superintendent; to advocate for the social, emotional, and intellectual health of all of our students; and to create the context for the Bedford Public Schools to become even stronger and more vibrant for all of our children.
