By Meredith McCullloch

The coming week features two public forums sponsored by the Planning Board (one in the afternoon, the other in the evening) to consider Accessory Dwelling Units, a pair of staff replacements (at the Library and for the Schools’ Finance Office), and a Charter Review Committee meeting.

On Tuesday May 13 the Planning Board urges residents to attend one of two public forums on accessory apartments both to be held in the Richard Reed Room at Town Hall. One is at 2:00 pm and a second at 7:00 pm. The Board seeks public input prior to drafting a new bylaw that would allow accessory apartments.

Also on Tuesday the  Library Trustees will meet in the library at 7:00 pm. Their addenda includes updates on ongoing projects such as the search for a new Building Superintendent to replace Ray Barry who is retiring.

The School Committee’s agenda includes replacement of the Finance Director, a report on vaccination rates and updates of school improvement projects at Lane and Davis.

The Charter and Bylaws Review Committee are formed every five years to reviewthe charter and bylaws.  Their first meetingfor this review process will be held on May 15 at 7 pm on the lower level conference room at Town  Hall. They will meet for the first time for the new round of consideration. At this meeting they will elect officers and decideon a work plan for the review.
