Selectmen’s Public Hearing ~ Right of Entry to Install and Maintain Wells on Town-Owned Property

At their meeting on Monday, April 22, 2019, the Selectmen will consider the request of the U.S. Air Force for a Right of Entry onto Town-owned properties located at

  • 20 Hartwell Road, known as the Hartwell Town Forest,
  • 64 Hartwell Road, known as the George Jordan Conservation Area and
  • 379 South Road, known as the South Road Fields

for the purpose of installing and maintaining monitoring wells in accordance with applicable CERCLA requirements and local Conservation Commission review.

Editor’s Note: According to Wikipedia, CERCLA stands for the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, known also as Superfund.

The hearing will take place at 8:00 p.m. in the Town Hall, 10 Mudge Way, in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room.  The public is invited to attend and provide comment.
