Bedford Police Department to Reward Kids for Good Behavior

Submitted on behalf of the Bedford Police Department

Chief Robert Bongiorno is pleased to announce that the Bedford Police Department’s officers will be on the lookout for well-behaved children for the remainder of the summer and through the start of the school year.

Officers will hand out free ice cream coupons — courtesy of Bedford Farms — to kids who are “caught” doing the right thing. Examples include wearing a helmet while riding a bicycle and crossing the street correctly.

“We’re always looking for ways to interact with residents of all ages, and this has traditionally been a fun way to engage with kids in their daily lives,” Lt. James Graham said. “This is also an excellent opportunity to emphasize and reinforce the importance of behaving in a safe and responsible way.”
