Snow Totals Adjusted for Mid-Week Storm – 4 pm Update

Compiled by The Bedford Citizen

Update Tuesday at 4 pm: While earlier this morning the snow totals were high, the most recent message from MEMA reduced snow totals along the Rte 128/95 corridor to 6 to 8 inches, after increasing them early Tuesday morning.

Snow is still expected to develop in Bedford around noon on Wednesday and continue into Thursday morning. Shifts in the storm track will determine where the rain/snow line sets up.

According to the NWS map, Bedford is near the rain/snow line, so the accumulation estimates will be affected by whatever changeover to rain takes place during the storm. Snow may fall at a rate of as much as 1-3 inches per hour at the peak of the storm late on Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night.

Snowfall is expected to be wet and heavy, with a danger of falling limbs and downed power lines.  Winds during the storm could be punctuated by gusts above 30 MPH.
