Although the forecast is several days out, the plethora of events scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in Bedford could well be snowy, according to Thursday’s National Weather Service forecast. Expected snow totals are predicted in the 4 to 6-inch range, with a low estimate of 1 to 2 inches, and the highest accumulation could be from 6 to 8 inches.
Friday night’s basketball opener isn’t expected to be affected, but Saturday and Sunday events could be.
Bedford High School’s 15th annual Women of Science scholarship competition expects teams from 23 cities and town on Saturday morning. A new completely sold out event for youngsters, The Polar Express, is scheduled at Depot Park on Saturday afternoon, and the Bedford Historical Society’s annual holiday party will take place late in the afternoon.
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church’s Advent Lessons and Carols service takes place on Saturday (please note correction!) at 5 pm in the church’s sanctuary at 100 Pine Hill Road. You’ll hear Bedford voices in the Concord Chorus concerts at Middlesex School, at 2 and at 5 pm on Saturday.
On Sunday, the morning begins with the Rotary Club’s Breakfast with Santa in the BHS cafeteria. An artists’ reception for White on White: Churches of Rural New England, a traveling exhibit sponsored by Historic New England will begin at noon in the Gallery at First Parish on Bedford Common at noon. And throughout the afternoon, visitors will go from house to house on the Bedford Chamber of Commerce / Suzanne and Company Holiday House Tour.
Correction: St. Paul’s Lessons and Carols will take place at 5 pm on SATURDAY afternoon, and there are two Concord Chorus concerts at Middlesex School on Saturday afternoon, at 2 pm and at 5 pm.
