According to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, moderate to heavy rain will impact Massachusetts through Wednesday morning, with the period of greatest impact on Tuesday afternoon and evening. Bands of showers and thunderstorms containing very heavy rainfall will move slowly across Massachusetts. Rainfall rates in excess of 1 inch per hour and/or storm total rainfall in excess of 3 inches poses the threat for flooding in areas with poor drainage.

More than 2” of rain is forecast for all areas of Massachusetts, with the NWS map predicting 2.80 inches for Bedford.

Strong straight-line winds and an isolated brief tornado are possible.  Wind Advisories are in effect for all of Massachusetts.  Damaging winds may result in downed trees and limbs and localized power outages, and thunderstorms may produce dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning.
