A storm bringing snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain is forecast to begin moving into western Massachusetts between midnight and 4:00 AM Friday, reaching eastern Massachusetts between 4:00 AM and 8:00 AM. The precipitation will continue into Saturday morning.
The National Weather Service probability range predicts an 83% chance of more than 4″ of snow for Bedford, with a 98% chance of at least an inch, and an 18% chance of a foot or more.
There is still a great deal of uncertainty associated with this weather event as noted in the Weather Service predictions, so specific details and forecast accumulations are likely to continue to change as the event approaches.
A warmer solution would result in less snowfall and more ice accumulation north of the Turnpike, while a colder solution would bring more heavy and wet snow along and north of the Mass Pike, including in the Boston area.
