The Bedford Housing Authority (BHA) and the Ashby Place Tenants Association organized an appreciation barbecue at the Ashby Place community building to thank Bedford’s First Responders – the Bedford Fire and Police Departments – for always being there to help the Town’s elderly, handicapped and veterans. The celebration was held Monday, September 12.

Special thanks and heartfelt gratitude was shown to the Bedford Fire Department, Chief Robert Bongiorno and the Bedford Police, as well as to municipal and state leaders who assist the community all year long.

The event was hosted and sponsored by BHA Executive Director Brenda Peacock and Administrative Assistant Pearlene Varjabedian as well as by the Bedford Tenants Association.

The Ashby Place Tenants Association was represented by President Anne Raffaelo, Vice President Michelle Blanchette, Secretary Carol Mudgett, Co-Treasurers Diane Casey and Shirley Degeis, Sunshine Lady Barbara Sabbag, Irene Price, and the tenants of Ashby Place.

BHA board members, Eugene Clerkin, William Moonan and Lewis Putney joined the party along with BLT driver Dotty Pantadosi and State Representative Kenneth Gordon.
