Bedford’s first Tree Lighting and Walkabout on Saturday, December 5 is getting better and better.

In addition to all the details announced earlier this week (click this link to read about the laser light show, the reasons to visit the businesses that will be open during the walkabout, the tree lighting, and the ‘surprise’ visitor) news about other activities are beginning to emerge.

The First Parish Junior Youth Group will serve hot chocolate in front of the historic meeting house on Bedford Common.

Live music performances will take place in front of First Parish on the Common and in the Great Room at Old Town Hall:

  • On Bedford Common, in front of First Parish: 5 pm, the  First Parish Quartet; at 5:30 pm, Bucapella, the Bedford High School close-harmony acappella ensemble; and at 6 pm, Leighann Hodgkins and musicians from the Real School of Music.
  • In the Great Room at Old Town Hall: 6 pm, the First Parish Quartet will move to the Great Room at Old Town Hall, where they will provide background music for vendors and shoppers; Bucapella will follow the Quartet’s performance at 6:30 pm.

With raffles and giveaways; samples; and products for sale as varied as bespoke baby bassinets, fire extinguishers, art prints, jewelry and DVDs (including the popular new documentary Bedford Memories) businesses on display in the Great Room at Old Town Hall will include Boy Scout troop 194, Cute Crib, DSA Printing, Great Road Gallery, Hayden Hudgins, It Works Wraps, Mary Kay products, OganizingWORKs, Origami Owl, PaperStore, Red Heat Tavern, ServePro, Stories with a Heart, and TutorDoctor.
