Submitted by the Town of Bedford
In response to the Bedford community’s interest in Fawn Lake, the Selectmen have established a new committee to assist in analyzing proposals to improve the management of Fawn Lake. Bedford residents who are interested in Fawn Lake are urged to apply for this committee by submitting their application to the Volunteer Coordinating Committee (VCC) as soon as possible.
Applications can be found on the VCC page of the Bedford Town Website https://www.bedfordma.gov/sites/bedfordma/files/file/file/questionnaire_for_volunteers-_enabled_0.pdf.
The committee will include four at-large Bedford residents as well as one representative each from the Conservation Commission, Selectmen, and Historic Preservation Commission. The at-large members should have an interest in Fawn Lake and ideally have attended some of the public meetings regarding the Fawn Lake engineering study.
Initially the committee will be asked to help Town staff review recommendations from an environmental engineering firm. Longer term the committee will help with monitoring solutions. Town Engineer Adrienne St. John and Conservation Administrator Elizabeth Bagdonas have asked for the help because they feel it is important for Bedford residents to have a hand in helping Town staff work through the issues surrounding Fawn Lake.
We respectfully request that any interested residents please apply as soon as possible so that the committee members can be selected to begin the review as soon as reasonably possible.
